Safe House

I'm looking forward to catching this new play tomorrow night at the SF Playhouse. It received a solid review in the SF Chronicle and seems to be dark and moody, my favorite type of experimental theatre.

More theatre news from the Bay Area Theatre World (JP's Theatre World) should resume in a couple of weeks. Grad school work has taken over the majority of my time.

Russ Schwartz - Co-founder of The Penny Seats and ensemble member of The New Theatre Project (both in Ann Arbor, MI). Russ has also appeared at Performance Network (Ann Arbor), the Jewish Ensemble Theatre (West Bloomfield, MI) and other Detroit-area venues. As a writer, his plays include Thorstein the Staff-Struck and Subroutine.

JP Hitesman - Member of Porchlight (Ross, CA) and Theatre Bay Area's Individual Services Committee (San Francisco, CA). A freelance artist specializing in stage management and production, he recently started the dramatic criticism blog TheatricalBuddhaMan.

Stacy Ruttenberg - Founder and Artistic Director, Slant of Light (Norwalk, CT). Stacy has also worked with Women's Expressive Theater (New York, NY), Eastbound (Milford, CT), Genesius (Reading, PA) and other theatres. She now produces, directs, and acts with her own company.

Gabriel Valdez - Co-founder of River Hobo Productions (Easthampton, MA). Member of Poetic Recovery (Springfield, MA) which raises money for Community Against Hate (Springfield). His screenplays include The Juliet Set and A Multitude of Sins. He is a contributing writer for NewsTaco and Chestnut Tree Cafe.
